In 2023, workers at Ash Field Academy took 43 days of strike action. In doing so, they became part of the historic strike wave that swept Britain from 2022-2023. But whereas many of the highest-profile strikes ended in a stalemate, with workers being forced to accept below-inflation pay rises, Ash Field Academy workers won big! 


Tom Barker, a union rep at Ash Field Academy, explains the context of the victory, what tactics are necessary to organise among marginalised groups of workers, and how we can rebuild a fighting trade union movement to win real victories and change society.

Who are we?
